Over 20 years of expertise and excellence
Amphora was founded in 2002, as a Queen’s University spin out, by Professors Muhammad Basheer and Adrian Long OBE, developing innovative testing technology and providing world leading material science consultancy.
Much of its early work revolved around the preservation of existing structures, particularly concrete and historic stone. The founders’ international reputation led Amphora to be involved in projects including the Beijing Birds Nest Stadium, Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, Wardian London and Palais d’Iéna in Paris. As Amphora continues to evolve as a business, we continue our strong links with academia, working closely with our partner institutions; Queen’s University Belfast, Heriot-Watt and Leeds University.
